Clarendon CISD Suprintendent Rick Teran is resigning his position because of what he calls an “innuendo” being spread in the community.

Teran was named the fulltime school superindentent in October after being hired last summer in an interim capactiy. He later took over the position of head girls’ basketball coach as well.
“I can’t stand the innuendo by a community member regarding my conduct around the girls,” Teran told the Enterprise. “It’s not true, and there was always a female coach around at the time.”
Teran said he didn’t need the job in Clarendon as he was already retired when he came to serve the school in an interim capacity to assist with the school’s search for a fulltime superintendent.
CCISD Board Vice President Chrisi Tucek would not discuss details surrounding the sudden resignation but said the board will receive his resignation letter during next Monday’s regular school board meeting. Tucek also said a special meeting of the board has been called for next Thursday, February 12.
