Clarendon CISD Suprintendent Rick Teran is resigning his position because of what he calls an “innuendo” being spread in the community.

Teran was named the fulltime school superindentent in October after being hired last summer in an interim capactiy. He later took over the position of head girls’ basketball coach as well.
“I can’t stand the innuendo by a community member regarding my conduct around the girls,” Teran told the Enterprise. “It’s not true, and there was always a female coach around at the time.”
Teran said he didn’t need the job in Clarendon as he was already retired when he came to serve the school in an interim capacity to assist with the school’s search for a fulltime superintendent.
CCISD Board President Wayne Hardin said Teran placed himself on administrative leave Friday, and Hardin watched Teran clean out his desk and turn in his keys.
“We can’t take action on his resignation Monday because the agenda wasn’t worded specifically enough,” Hardin said. “So we’ll have a called meeting on Thursday [February 12] and accept his resignation, which will be effective at the end of the month. But he’s already gone.”
