
Irene Oatman, 82, of Pampa, passed into eternity on Monday, July 20, 2026, at her home.
Services were held on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Pastor Jeremy Buck officiating. Cremation followed the funeral service.
Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Irene was born on April 28, 1944, in Clarendon to Isaac and Faye Elam.
A true Texan through and through, Irene possessed a spirit and remarkable resilience that carried her through life’s joys and hardships. She was always up for an adventure, whether she was scuba diving, camping beneath the stars, birdwatching, or enjoying a good book, Irene found beauty and excitement in the world around her.
More than anything, Irene cherished the people she loved. She was a pillar of love, encouragement, and strength to her family and friends. As a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, she leaves behind a legacy of compassion, and unconditional love that will continue to inspire those who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac and Faye Elam; her brother, Marvin Elam; her first husband, Wayne Moxon; her son, Kevin Moxon; her daughter, Keri Moxon; and her grandson, Darren Moxon.
Irene is survived by her husband, Harvey Oatman of Clarendon; her daughters, Lisa Blandford and Amnesty Oatman and husband Chance; her grandchildren, Shane and Katie Blanford, Chris Blandford, Jessica and Ryan Milligan, Monica Moxon, Carizma Moxon, Tereza and Cris Larrazolo, Kira James; great-grandchildren, Kevin, Jon, Lisia, Zeke, Michelle, Kit, Cooper, Ayiiia, Arianna, Toval, Noah, Kaiiden, Kinslee, Weston; great-great-grandchildren, Elyias, Kenneth; siblings, Digger and Reba Elam, Karen Evans, Sharon Elam, Pat Seeley; sister-in-law, Lenora Barnes; best friend, Jan Schelle; and extended family members, and many dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
