Clarendon High School’s Addy Havens and Trysten Ybarra picked up right where they left off from last year’s cross-country season at the Haskell Invitational Cross- Country Meet last weekend.
The duo was able to each bring home 7th-place finishes with their first medal of the new season for the Broncos and Lady Broncos.
Havens and Ybarra, who are both juniors at CHS, are veterans on the cross-country course. They are in their third year of running and have done their part in leading their teams to great finishes.
Havens ran the course in a time of 13:54.11 in a field of 123 runners just behind the first-place finisher that ran the 3200m race in a time of 12:52.
Ybarra ran against 93 other competitors and posted a time of 16:00.32. Ybarra was close to the winner that had a time of 15:16.21.
Jeremiah Shelley also ran for the Broncos finishing in 22nd place with a time of 17:20.37. Brayden Goodwin ran 89th crossing the line in a time of 23:01.28.
The 2026 cross-country runners are under the guidance of coaches Kasey Bell and Christi Benson. They will run in Groom at the Cross on Saturday, September 5.
