Hedley High School was well represented at district tennis on Monday in Amarillo. Medaling were the boys’ doubles duo of Clay King and Adam Bernal, who earned first; the girls’ doubles dog of Brittney and Bailey Downing, also getting first, and the mixed doubles duo of Andrea Coccinni and Marie Francksen playing mixed doubles and earning second. A large pile of discarded railroad crossties went up in flames on E. Rosenfield Street Sunday morning, March 20. Clarendon Fire Chief Jeremy Powell said volunteer firemen were paged to the blaze about 7 a.m. and stayed on the scene until noon.
