The City of Clarendon’s sales tax revenues were up slightly when Acting Texas Comptroller Kelly Hancock made monthly allocations last week.
The city was up 0.35 percent for a monthly figure of $55,024.13, pushing its year-to-date collection tally to $228,577.97, which is an increase of 0.92 percent.
Howardwick’s May allocation dropped 12.14 percent to $1,936.88, dragging the lakeside city’s year-to-date figure down 10.79 percent to $9,019.97.
Hedley was also down by 1.51 percent to $1,752.45 but is up 8.89 percent for the year at $8,138.63.
Donley County in Assistance District 2 brought in $9,168.11 this month, and Donley County Assistance District 1 was up 8.63 percent to $1,469.10 this month but is down 0.71 percent for the year-to-date at $6,235.22.
Memphis was up 1.08 percent this month to $43,618.64, and Wellington was down 6.28 percent to $37,513.79.
Bolstered by datacenter construction activity, Claude was up 69.10 percent to $31,616.94, and Armstrong County was up 10,740.44 percent to $463,475.59 for May and is up 2,064.27 percent for the year-to-date at $1,200,118.90. The City of Childress is up 12.26 percent this month at $168,817.33, and Childress County is up 82.20 percent at $151.146.35.
Statewide, Hancock distributed $1.4 billion in local sales tax allocations for May, 7.7 percent more than in May 2025.
These allocations are based on sales made in March by businesses that report tax monthly and sales made in January, February and March by quarterly filers.
