Sannie “San” Thompson was born on April 10, 1947, in Donley County at Adair Hospital to Herschel “Shorty” Thompson and Ruby May Thompson. He passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2026. No services are scheduled, per his wishes, and he will be cremated and buried at Citizens Cemetery in section 10 in a family plot.
COPD and Parkinson’s disease are hard ways to die. As are drowning in one’s own fluids (CIOD), or dying slowly in a rest-home with Parkinson’s, after having depleted all of the family’s assets and care giving energy.
I choose the unselfish exit time and place.
The Ten Commandments say “Thou shall not kill.” God sent Jesus, about 1450 years later, to be a sacrifice for the sins of all who believe in him. John 3:16 is one of the verses that says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever shall believe in him shall not die but have everlasting life”, or Acts 16:31, Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shall be saved…
“All have sinned…” Jesus, you are my only hope.
Please pray for my family and friends in this time of grief.
Survivors include his daughter, Yvette Palmer and husband, John; and his dearest friend, Frances Smith.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation in San’s name.
