Cennet Tuncay Rhode, 90, died Monday, January 27, 2014, in Clarendon.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 30, 2014, in Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon with Rev. C.W. Parker, Odyssey Hospice Chaplain, officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.
Cennet was born March 5, 1923, in Ankara, Turkey. She married J.P. Rhode on May 6, 1960, in Ankara, Turkey. She became a US Citizen on February 11, 1965, and had been a resident of Clarendon since 1973. She was an active member of the community where she was a member of the Clarendon Lions Club and involved with the Shiner’s and Khiva Club. The Clarendon Chamber of Commerce bestowed their highest honor, The Saints’ Roost Award, on her in 1996. She was a Muslim.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, on February 2, 1992; and a niece, Betsy Ellerbrook.
She is survived by a nephew, Will Chamberlain and wife Brenda of Clarendon; a niece, Evelyn Shaw and husband Jim of McLean; and several great nieces and nephews.

Ardith Warren Stone
Ardith Warren Stone, 83, went to be with the Lord Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014.
The funeral was held at 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, Moore Funeral Home Chapel.

Ardith was born on Easter, April 20, 1930, in Amarillo to James H. and Lida Mace Warren. She was a member of South Oaks Baptist Church, Order of the Eastern Star, and the Dames of the Magna Charta. She was also a Daughter of the American Revolution and a Daughter of the Republic of Texas.
Ardith was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Stone.
She is survived by her sons, Kevin Stone, Mark Stone and wife, Dawna, Randall Stone and wife, Maria; brother, Weldon Warren; sisters, Billie Tiller and Winnie Mandril; granddaughters, Jordan Stone Hinkle and husband, Randy, and Skylar Stone; grandson, Spenser Stone; great-grandson, Reese Hinkle; and many extended family members.

Terry Wayne McCrary was born on December 3, 1967 in Clarendon, Texas to James Douglas McCrary and Sarah Lee (Shults) McCrary. He attended school in Clarendon and graduated from Clarendon High School and attended Clarendon Junior College. Terry married BobbieJo (Sharp) McCrary on August 27, 1988, in Branson, Colorado and they lived in Dumas, Texas for eleven years before moving to Union County where they have lived for the last 14 years.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ivan Douglas McCrary.
He is survived by his wife, BobbieJo McCrary of Folsom, New Mexico; a daughter, Casey Heimann and her husband Chance of Amistad, New Mexico; 2 sons, Orrin McCrary and Cliffton McCrary both of Folsom, New Mexico; his parents, James and Sarah McCrary of Clarendon; one sister Sherry Lindsey of Clarendon; 2 grandchildren, Trent Heimann of Amistad, New Mexico and Sophee McCrary of Folsom, New Mexico; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Norma Gay Waggoner
Norma Gay Graves Waggoner, 78, died Thursday, January 16, 2014, in Clarendon.
Services were held on Monday, January 20, 2014, at Robertson Funeral Directors Saints’ Roost Chapel in Clarendon with Rev. Derrel Evins, officiating.

Norma Waggoner was born March 21, 1935, in Clovis, New Mexico to Coly and Verna G. Riddle Graves. She married Robert Waggoner on April 18, 1954, in Muleshoe, Texas. She had been a data entry clerk for Lubbock Manufacturing and then later for Western Merchandisers. After having working and living in Amarillo, Norma moved to Howardwick 34 years ago. Mrs. Waggoner loved her grandkids. She also loved to cook, sew, quilt, and crochet. She attended the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Roger Graves; and a sister Billie Whipple.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Waggoner of Howardwick; a son, Robert Brett Waggoner of Culloden, West Virginia; 2 daughters, Kim Mayes and Kay Waggoner, both of Amarillo; 6 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

Grace Virginia Lee Cox, 93, died Thursday, January 2, 2014, in Clarendon.
Services were held on Monday, January 6, 2014 at Zion Lutheran Church in Pampa with Rev. Michael Erickson, pastor, officiating.

Grace Cox was born May 6, 1920 in Elmo, Missouri to Henry Theodore and Christine Charlotte Sander Held. She married Harold Cox on December 18, 1940 in Cape Griardeau, MO. Grace was a homemaker and was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Pampa for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on December 19, 1990; and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by 2 sons, Ricky Cox and wife Sandy, and James Cox; 4 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.

Mrs. T. L. Roach
Mrs. T. L. Roach (Rosemary), 86, died December 27, 2013, in Amarillo.
Services were held December 31, in Polk Street United Methodist Church with Dr. Burt Palmer officiating. Entombment will be in Llano Cemetery Mausoleum. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
Rosemary was born September 11, 1927, in Amarillo to Harvey and Olga Carter Allen. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1945. She also graduated from Christian College, Columbia, Missouri in 1947, and from Texas University in Austin with a Bachelor of Arts in 1949. While at UT, she joined the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, was runner-up in the Sweetheart of University Contest, and runner-up finalist in Blue Bonnet Belle and was Aqua Carnival Queen.
In 1950, she married T. L. Roach, Jr. Her current and past business operations include Roach Oil Co. & Ashtola Exploration Co., Senior Partner, T. L. Roach and Son, Allen Creek Ranch, and owner of TxAire Charter Service.

Rosemary loved the Amarillo community and was very involved in community activities. She served on the Board of Directors of Amarillo Symphony Inc. from 1981-1987. While on the Board, she served on the following committees: Nominating, Program Advertising, By-laws, and the Investments committee.
She also served on the board of Amarillo Symphony Guild from 1970-73; Amarillo Art Alliance Board of Directors, 1995; and on the Amarillo Opera Board of Directors, While serving on The Amarillo Opera board, she was a member of the Advisory board 1995-1998, sponsored many productions, and was nominated by Amarillo Opera as one of the Philanthropists of the Year.
In 1951, she became a member of the Junior League of Amarillo and served on the Advisory Planning Committee, was corresponding secretary of the Executive Committee, served on the Admissions Committee and on the Nominating Committee three years, YWCO Public Relations Committee Chairman, and was a sustaining Advisor to Advisory Planning.
Rosemary also served on the Cal Farley Boy’s Ranch/Girlstown USA Board of Directors. She was one of the first two women to serve on the Board of Directors after Boy’s Ranch merged with Girlstown. While on the board, she served as secretary of Executive Committee and Chairman of the Ad Hoc Committee. She also co-chaired the Strategic Planning committee of Boy’s Ranch and Girlstown and was an avid and proud fan of the yearly Boy’s Ranch Rodeo.
From 1993-2001, Rosemary served on The Sam Houston Society, Friends of the Governor’s Mansion, Board of Trustees 1993-2001 and as Vice President 1997-1999. She also served on the YWCO Board of Directors 1978-1982.
Polk Street United Methodist Church was a large part of Rosemary’s life. She was a member since 1950 and served on the Board of Trustees 1991-1994. She was recognized at the Charge Conference in 1994 for the renovation of Social Hall, a gift in memory of her husband, T.L. Road, Jr. She also served on the Finance Committee, was a charter member of the Altar Guild, served on Adult Ministries and on the Committee for “Wednesday Night Worship Service.” She was a member of Susanna Wesley Class, United Methodist Women’s Board, and Church Circle Chairman. She was also on the Board of Directors of Wesley Community Center.
Other community and statewide involvements include serving on the West Texas A&M University Foundation. She was a member of Hall of Fame 1993. Mrs. T. L. Roach, Jr. and family gave a Presidential Honors Scholarship in memory of T.L. Roach, Jr. in 1992. She was a member of President’s Circle of Friends, received a WTA&M Gold Medallion award by Circle of Friends, and was on the Inaugural Committee for WTA&M President Max Sherman in 1977.
Rosemary served on the Steering Committee to re-elect Teel Bivins for Texas Senate and to elect Rick Perry for Texas Agriculture Commissioner.
She was a charter and lifetime member of Amarillo Botanical Gardens as well as the Lone Star Ballet Board and was a Lone Star Ballet production sponsor. She was a member and past president of Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumnai and received her 50-year service pin in 2013. She served on the Eldon Durrett Scholarship Committee 1979-1987 and was appointed Chairman in 1980 by the Amarillo School Board.
Rosemary was active in the Texas and Southwest Cattle Raisers Association (“TSCRA”) and was a member since 1950. She was elected as Honorary Vice President. Rosemary adored attending the TSCRA conventions twice a year where she would reunite with her lifelong friends. She was a financial supporter of the TSCRA Museum in Fort Worth.
In 1990, Rosemary accepted the Research Chair, in memory of T. L. Roach, Jr., of the Don and Sybil Harrington Cancer Center, which was given by Mrs. Sybil Harrington.
Awards received from Polk Street United Methodist Church include the Special Christian Service Award and Special Mission Recognition of Polk Street United Methodist Women in 1986. She also received the Distinguished Service Award for outstanding Achievement in the Community from The Amarillo Area Women’s Forum. She was awarded the Golden Nail Award for service in the arts.
Following in the footsteps of her mother, Olga, she was an avid gardener. She also loved fly fishing in Colorado and Montana, and playing bridge and gin rummy with her dear friend, Jay Taylor. Rosemary was passionate about supporting the arts in the Amarillo area, museums, higher education, and historical preservation. She traveled worldwide, but found her most treasured and beloved destinations to be Allen Creek Ranch, spending Thanksgiving at the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs and the 4UR fishing resort in Creede, Colorado. She was an avid supporter of politics, loved entertaining, and most of all, she enjoyed her children and her seven grandchildren, who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Elizabeth Allen Chesshir in 1974; her husband, T.L. Roach, Jr. in 1988; and a grandson, Jack Roach.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan Roach and Sheri Brosier and husband Scott, all of Amarillo; one son Tom L. Roach III and wife Annie of Montana; six grandchildren, Travis Higgins, Benjamin Brosier, Brennan Brosier, Channing Brosier, Katie Roach, and McCullough Roach, and two nieces, Rosemary Orr of Amarillo and Leanne Siewerr of Costa Rica.

Cora McAllister Bland
Cora McAllister Bland, 94, died Tuesday, December 31, 2013, in Amarillo.

Cora was born December 31, 1919, in Jayton, Kent Co., Texas to Andrew Kelly and Eunice Parnell McAllister. She married Henry Bland on March 19, 1943, in Lubbock, Texas. Mrs. Bland moved from Dickens Co. to Clarendon in January of 1971. She had been a housewife, enjoyed cooking, and loved to crochet and read. Cora was also a member of the Disabled Veterans Auxiliary and the VFW Auxiliary. She was a charter member of the Howardwick First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father in 1954 and by her mother in 1920; her husband on September 4, 1999; by 2 brothers, Julian Wayne McAllister in 1916, Bob Edd McAllister in 1942; by 2 half-brothers, J.W. and Clyde McAllister; and by a half-sister, Fannie Lou Richard.
She is survived by 2 sons, Albert Kelly Bland and wife Cherrie and Donald Gene Bland and wife Judy, both of Amarillo; by a loving friend whom she considered a son, Rev. Robert Griffin and wife Faye of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 5 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and by 2 great-great grandchildren.

Bobby Lee Woods
Mr. Bobby Lee Woods, 82, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2013, in Amarillo.
Memorial services for Bobby Lee Woods, of Clarendon will be set at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Peppers Family Funeral Home in Memphis.
Mr. Woods was born January 4, 1931, in Wilburton, OK to Mr. Roy and Mrs. Susie (Livingston) Woods. He graduated from Wilburton High School.

Mr. Woods served in the Korean War. In 1952, he moved to Amarillo. Bobby married Anna Jane Clement on March 6, 1953, in New Mexico. He retired from Southwestern Bell as a computer tech in 1986. He then moved from Amarillo to Greenbelt Lake. Bobby enjoyed fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister.
Mr. Woods is survived by his wife, Anna Woods of Clarendon; one son, Dennis Woods and wife Yvonne of Hemphill; two daughters, Jana McNeely of Bedford, TX and Sandra Woods of Chama New Mexico; seven grandchildren, First Lieutenant Bobby Keith Woods, Mariana Woods, Drew Ellen Woods, Heather Reynolds, Jennifer Dillard, Daniel McNeely, Paul Newby; and nine great-grandchildren.

Mary Jane was born on January 19, 1921 to Laura Cecil and Daniel Marshall Cook in Lelia Lake, Texas, where she lived for almost all of her life. She was married on December 25, 1938, to John Leo Smith, who passed away in 1996. A mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she lived her life with love and grace and she will be missed greatly. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband on December 30, 1996.
She is survived by two daughters, Marilee Self and husband George of Amarillo and Sheila White and husband Mark C. of Clarendon; four grandchildren, Kristi Shade of Augusta, Georgia, Mitch Self of Seabrook, Texas, Brad Self of Clarendon and Roger Wade of Lelia Lake; eight great-grandchildren, Courtney of Columbus, Ohio, Laura of Augusta, Georgia, Mateo of Seabrook, Texas, Nicholas of Clarendon, Jeff of Austin, Texas, and Reagan, Riley and Rustin of Lelia Lake; and a sister, Anita Mooring of Amarillo.

Louise Horton, 87, died Sunday, December 22, 2013, in Lubbock.

Louise was born January 31, 1926, in Memphis to Virgil and Mary Siddle. She married Barney Lee Horton on January 31, 1947, in Clarendon. She had worked at the Clarendon College cafeteria prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Community Fellowship Church in Clarendon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, on April 9, 1990; her son, Mike Horton; and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by a daughter, Kim Milliken and husband Bob of Lubbock; a daughter in law, Vicki Horton Moore of Amarillo; three grandchildren, Olivia Lumpkin of Lubbock, Keith Horton and wife Katha of Amarillo, and Karen Esquivel and husband Daniel of Hereford; four great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.
