Clarendon High School junior runner Madi Benson is at it again this season. She was able to take second place in the 800m run at the regional track meet to make yet another appearance at the state level.
Benson’s time of 2:25.67 was just over two seconds off of the winning time of 2:22.51. She has been stellar in her three seasons in Lady Bronco track.
Benson ran the 1600m in a time of 5:50.94 for fifth place but did not advance. The winning time in that run was 5:35.93.
Freshman Addy Havens has had a very impressive season also. Havens qualified to the regional track meet in two events just like Benson, and although she was close, she did not advance to the state level. Havens rand sixth in the 1600m run with a tine of 5:51.61 right behind Benson.
Havens was very impressive in the 3200m run and missed qualifying for the state meet by just over 14 seconds. The first-place time in the 3200m was 11:57.51.
Kate Shaw also competed at the regional level and finished 14th in the shot put. Shaw recorded a distance of 31’6 ½”.
